LHA Partnership with Highland Communities Credit Union

To help tenants prepare for changes within the benefit system and the implementation of Universal Credit. The Housing Association has formed a partnership with Highland Communities Credit Union to assist our tenants manage their benefits.

Did you know?

Universal Credit will be paid to the claimant

  • As a single household payment directly into a bank account.
  • On a calendar monthly basis
  • Direct payment of housing costs to the claimant.

As a Members of Highland Communities Credit Union, you can have your benefit paid into your credit union account and, upon agreement, have your rent paid directly to Lochaber Housing Association. The remainder of your benefit can then be loaded onto a card and you will be able to withdraw money at an A.T.M. (75p charge) or anywhere that gives “cash back” (free).
