Lochaber Housing Association is a registered charitable housing association, with a stock of over 700 properties across Lochaber with a significant new build development programme. Our aim is to help sustain and develop thriving communities through the provision of good quality, affordable housing opportunities and services across Lochaber.
We are registered under Charitable Rules with the Scottish Housing Regulator, the Office of the Scottish Charity Regulator and with the Financial Services Authority.
Our Mission Statement reads: “we will facilitate the provision and maintenance of good quality, truly affordable housing opportunities and services for our customers in their preferred communities, thereby helping to sustain and develop thriving communities throughout Lochaber”.
Lochaber Care & Repair
Lochaber Care & Repair, the Associations charitable subsidiary, operates a free advisory service to assist older and disabled people in their own homes to manage improvements, repairs and adaptions to their properties. In doing so, it can help with grant applications to the Council in advising about financial assistance that may be available. Lochaber Care & Repair also runs a Handyperson and Small Repairs service, as well as an aids and equipment service in partnership with the Highland Council and NHS Highland. Lochaber Care & Repair is jointly funded by The Highland Council, Lochaber Housing Association and NHS Highland.
Lochaber Housing Association Property Services CIC
In 2009 the Association set up LHA Property Services CIC as a non-charitable subsidiary company in order to carry out activities that the Association, as a charity, could not and was not established too as a Community Interest Company (CIC) so that the association could protect the company’s surpluses for the benefit of the community and for the provision of training and employment opportunities. The company provides a comprehensive, reactive, cyclical and planned maintenance service for the Association and its tenants.
