Apprenticeship Success Story

Lochaber Housing Association is pleased to reveal a number of young people have successfully gained employment after being given quality training opportunities as part of our business modern apprenticeships.

Last week we said good luck to Charis Sneddon, who played a key role with Lochaber Care and Repair. Charis has secured a position as a Health Care Support Worker with NHS Highland for six months. She will then progress to a degree course in adult nursing care at university.

Charis said: “Supporting the elderly and vulnerable has encouraged me to pursue my career further and work within the nursing sector.

I have gained valuable life skills during my apprenticeship with Lochaber Care & Repair and I am very grateful for the opportunity they have given me.”

Siobhan Toal is another success story.

We are delighted Siobhan is staying within the organisation for a further two years. She will continue to build on her confidence and skills within corporate services as we roll-out the association’s new IT system.

Acting Chief Executive Margaret Moynihan said: “An apprenticeship qualification is something that we at the Association are very passionate about.

Our continued investment in the young people of Lochaber, both in trade and modern apprenticeships, means apprentices can earn while they learn and develop invaluable skills for both their current and future jobs.”
