As all of our service users will be aware, the Covid-19 pandemic continues to be an issue that impacts our daily lives – on the way we conduct our everyday business, how we interact with friends and family and how we receive services from those organisations that are able to continue to conduct their business.
At the Lochaber Housing Association Group we have come a long way in managing the risks over the months since March, when the country went in to the lockdown restrictions, to the extent that for some weeks now we have been providing our services to much the same extent as we did before the pandemic, albeit in some respects differently. Fortunately, at this point in time, the Highlands have been placed in Tier 1 of the Scottish Government’s Covid-19 restrictions, which means, of course, that we are able to continue to work in this very flexible way while all the time taking robust and risk assessed precautions to keep you and our staff safe at all times.
So, we are working hard to ensure the critical and essential services that make a difference to communities every day continue to operate, although our office remains closed to all customers, with many of our staff continuing to work from home. This means that we will continue to respond to customer calls, emails and letters and talk to you about your tenancy and provide any necessary support. We are also continuing to carry out our normal range of repairs and maintenance services as well as cyclical and planned improvement programmes, such as painting and replacement windows and doors; and our Care and Repair and Handyperson Services continue to provide the services that our service users rely on. And I stress that when these services are provided by our teams in your home we only carry them out with your consent and using safe working practices. Part of being safe means that we are continuing to ask our customers to tell us if they are self-isolating or have a confirmed case of Coronavirus so that we can agree arrangements to deliver essential services safely. Detailed information on services and contact with us is contained within our Coronavirus section of the website.
It is, of course, entirely possible that we will enter a higher level of restrictions depending on the extent of the pandemic and the Scottish Government’s changing guidance in response. In this event we will reassess our service delivery options and let you know if we need to introduce any changes or limitations.
